Gymnastics Class

Every Thursday, Cameron watches Gracie take off her shoes and go into the gym for her gymnastics class. As soon as the door opens, he tries to make a run for it. He always ends up crying because he has to watch Big Sister from the window. Not this time! We took Cameron for his first class this past Saturday. It was more a trial run to see how he would do in the class as he's still under the age group (only by 2 months). We opened the door for him to go in and he just looked at me with this "are you serious" look. It took him a moment to take it all in and then, the fun began. He was not afraid of ANYTHING!
I don't think they understand stretching but he gave it a go.
He did not want to get off the trampoline so we did have a few tears......
Getting Stamps! He kept staring at Coach Ann as she was stamping his hands and feet. I would love to know what thoughts go their little heads.
Nice peaceful bath....

Happy Birthday Gracie

It's hard to believe that 5 years ago, we were in the hospital getting ready to have our little princess. After 17 1/2 hours of labor and one c-section later, Gracie arrived at 11:50 p.m. weighing 8 lbs 10 oz. 21 inches on September 25, 2003. It was instant love!

Yuck Yuck Yuck Yuck!

This evening was a rough night. As I started getting the kids ready for bath, I removed Cameron's diaper and let he and Gracie run around naked as I prepared their bath. WELL......I started to smell a little something funky. I turned to find Cameron's feet and hands full of poop. YUP, poop. As I picked him up to try and clean his feet, his little bottom was dirty and got all over my shirt. I cleaned him up, put him in the bath, changed shirt and cleaned up the "mess". After I cleaned up and was prepared to bathe him, I realized there was poop in the bath. I had to drain the water, take him out, wash the tub in hot water and start all over again. I was hesitate to let him play fearing it would happen again, but I needed a break. As I was picking up the room, I kept thinking, I still smell it! I turned and found this large area of poop. I have NO idea what happened to little Cam tonight, but it was everywhere! As I'm trying to spray some cleaner to soak, he & Gracie are screaming in the background. I get them out one by one knowing I still have a lot of cleaning to do. Already exhausted, I muster up the energy to steam clean the carpet. I have NEVER experienced this before. It was the most digusting mess I have ever seen. Most of my evenings are hectic, but this one topped them all.

As I sit here trying to enjoy my glass of wine, I try to find some positive to such a crazy evening---my carpets are clean.

Growing Up!

It has been extremely busy for us lately. The weeks and days feel like a blur. The kids started their first day of school on August 25th. I cried as Gracie & Cameron held hands and walked into school so independently.
Kenny's latest project is restoring a 1961 Cadillac, as you can see, Cameron is also enjoying being part of this "project".I LOVE MY BABIES......each day they bring new joys into my life. Gracie's latest....Kenny is her new "BFF". It melts my heart each time I hear her. The other morning, Kenny said "good morning Gracie" as she walked into her restroom. Gracie replied "good morning my BFF". How cute is that?
Don't they look so peaceful?
Lastly, our little soon to be 5 year old has been extremely busy. She started Ballet/Tap class two weeks ago. OMG, she looks gorgeous in her little dance outfit. She really loves the tap/ballet shoes. She has learned how do to arabesque, pirouette and the shuffle. Her teacher says Gracie is very attentive and asks alot of questions. Today, she had her first piano lesson. We opted to do in-home for the convenience factor and there was only about a $16 difference. As Gracie met Ms. Ashley, Gracie asks "are you going to help me learn how to play How Great Thou Art". I wanted to run into the music room and squeeze her. She really enjoyed her class! I can't wait until next week.
Her homework!
Doesn't he look so happy? We've been trying to go up to the playroom a little more since the treadmill "incident". I LOVE THOSE CHEEKS.

Summary Party!

It's hard to believe fall is right around the corner. Gracie will begin Pre-K this year and Cameron will remain in Level I with Ms. Kelly. We were so fortunate she is Cameron's teacher. She loves him immensely and he her. He sees her in the mornings and extends his arms out to her with his mouth wide open. (Every now and then he slips us the tongue :( ) As he is only 15 months (TODAY) he is not old enough to move up. Ms. Kelly has been teaching them sign language, so we have enjoyed him showing us what he's learned. So far, we've learned sign for "more", "juice", "please" and "eat". I look forward to her teaching more as the year progresses. His favorite word "coo-coo" (cookie). He walks to the pantry and says "mo coo-coo".

Gracie will have Ms. Grace as her Pre-K teacher. She loves Ms. Grace so we are great spirits as the new school year begins for them.

Last Friday, Bent Tree had a "Summer" party as the new school year will begin on Monday. I was watching Cameron through the window as they enjoyed their party. Don't they look so cute sitting together around this table?
Yes, he was LOVIN' the cupcakes!
Cameron & Ms. Kelly! (Seriously, he smiles like this all the time he's around her)
We walked over to Gracie's classroom to join in Ms. Misti's party but Cameron decided he needed to eat some more. This boy does not get full, it's insane. I didn't have a chance to take many pictures in her room as he was ALL over the place.
I was unloading groceries one day and asked Cameron to take my shoes to the closet. He picked them up and was gone for a very long time. I went into the bedroom to see what he was doing and he was sitting in the closet playing with my shoes. I couldn't believe he understood so I brought him back into the kitchen and asked him to start handing me stuff. He did pretty good until I opened the refrigerator. He was trying to put his Little Swimmers in the refrigerator. It kept him busy for about 10 minutes, which for us, is a God send.

Happy Anniversary!

Today is our 7 year anniversary! Happy Anniversary honey. Kenny & I have been together for more than 7 years. He was one of my best friends for several years before we started dating. For those of you who don't know the story of how we got married, you're about to find out. We were on our way to Vegas for a week of gambling, sleepless nights, etc., (j/k) but we were not on so good terms. The Thursday before our flight, Kenny went out to a "client dinner" and didn't get home until 4:00 a.m. As you can imagine, I was furious. Not only was he extremely late, he was very happy (translation=very intoxicated). I pitched a fit and said I was not going our trip. As we had already rescheduled this trip before, I reluctantely boarded the plane. On our way to Phoenix, Kenny took a potty break. When he returned, I leaned my seat back and closed my eyes. I felt a tap on my shoulder and opened by eyes. In front of me stood a flight attendant with a little silver tray, two glasses of champagne and a little black box. Yes, I was shocked. He proposed! I kept telling me he had to talk to my family and ask my Dad for permission. Much to my surprise, he said he had already done all of that. Everyone knew what he was up to except me. He had spoken to my entire family and told them he was going to propose and hopefully get married. As we were getting off the airplane, the flight attendant wished us luck. I remember telling Kenny that she was being pretty presumptuous just because we were on our way to Vegas. He said, "well, if it's ok with you, we're scheduled to get married tonight". Panick set in. I'm not ready, I don't have anything to wear, etc. He just looked at me and said, "it's all taken care of". We had packed separate bags and in his bag, he had a wedding dress, shoes, hose, etc. I was floored, it was all to surreal. We landed in Vegas and we're off to get our marriage license. We headed back to the hotel, got dressed and we're off to "Viva Las Vegas" wedding chapel. Once we got there, they had bouquet of red roses and all the little stuff. The photographer took pictures and I walked down the aisle as our family and friends watched us on the internet! We went back to our hotel room and he surprised me with a wedding cake too. It was a very memorable moment for both of us!

I love you sweetie!
