Big Boy Going Potty!

I am so excited Cameron has expressed interest in the potty. We started sitting him on the potty about a month ago just to start the introduction. I honestly didn't think he would pick it up that quit. I was wrong, our little man is starting to get the concept. He has even going potty at school for about a week and half now. Keep in mind he is by no means potty trained, but we have had a few less diapers.

Today, I bathed them in Gracie's bathroom. I removed his diaper and sat him on the potty. He just looks like such a little boy.

Halloween Pics....

Halloween was a lot of fun this year, very busy, but a lot of fun. Gracie was Sleeping Beauty and Cameron was a Spider. The ladybug is Ms. Kelly's daughter, Valentina, she was a Lady Bug. Carson, Cameron's classmate was a Bat. They really were adorable. Can you see Gracie is wearing make up?

After the school party, we headed home to get ready to go Trick-o-Treating. I had a nice surprise for Gracie. I dressed up as Malificent. Cameron wasn't sure what to make of me in my costume as I walked out of the room. It was a lot of fun dressing up and taking the kids house to house.Cameron had no idea what was going on. It was funny to watch him because as soon as the door would open, Cameron would just walk right in.

We only visited about 10 houses or so. Gracie looked at me and said "Mom, I think we have enough treats, let's go home". I was shocked! I figured we'd be out and about for at least an hour. She was content with what she had in her bucket and enjoyed handing out the treats for the treaters that came by our house. Cameron enjoyed himself too :)

Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Gracie's class had their first field trip last Thursday to the Pumpkin Patch in Flower Mound. This is the first time I've ever agreed to let Gracie attend a field trip. She was so PROUD to be riding on the school bus. For those of you who know me are not going to be surprised that I followed the school bus! I'm not ready to let go yet.

I was really surprised when she wanted to go into the maze? I was very proud of this little class, they stuck together and figured it out.

Big Girl & Big Boy

This evening was a very monumental evening for us. As I was getting the kids bath ready, I noticed Cameron had an odd look on his face. It hit me - he has to go potty. I quickly took him to the restroom and sat him on the potty. He squinted his eyes and gave me "the look". I sat down and kept telling him over and over, "it's ok, go potty" - and then it HAPPENED. Our little boy went big potty for the first time. I even got him to bend over and hike his hiney up in the air so I could wipe. Kenny wouldn't let me take a picture so I hope you just take my word. I don't think I would really want to post THAT picture.

Then, after Gracie was dressed, she sat on the bed and said, I can comb my hair by myself. If you haven't seen Gracie in awhile, her hair comes down to her waist. She sat there and brushed and brushed and brushed. I just watched her in total awe. She's growing up!

I thank the Lord each day for such wonderful children he has given us and am in complete awe of them each day.

Bubbles Anyone?

This weekend we tried to just have fun! The kids, by default, always have to run out and do errands with us. Cameron had his Gymnastics class on Saturday and afterwards, we stopped by Toys R Us. Gracie purchased some Leap Frog Tag Flash Cards for her Tag Reader and Cameron got his 3rd haircut. We walked around the store and looked at ALL the toys and headed home. Sunday, we walked over to the lake, fed the ducks and headed to the big playground. The kids played for over an hour. Gracie has a Dora the Explorer jeep Kenny purchased at an auction several years ago. She has never driven it. She was always afraid of it. As we were playing "tag" in the park, she said she was getting tired of chasing me around so I suggested we take her jeep out. She was a bit hesitant at first but then got the hang of it. Of course, we little Cameron at our knees screaming "mine, mine, mine". I thought, oh well, and let him take a turn. Oh my goodness is all that comes to mind. Those kids had the most fun driving the jeep around. Each time it was Gracie's turn, Cameron would throw himself down on his knees and cry. He had these big alligator tears running down his cheeks. As the battery started to wind down, I had to ask Gracie to drive the jeep back home as Cameron cried the entire walk home. To cheer them up, I decided to let them have a bubble bath. With Cameron's sensitive skin, he's never had one. I wish I had taken a picture of his face, bubbles, bubbles, bubbles, bubbles was all that came out of his mouth. As usual, as soon as I let go of the water, out came the alligator tears again!
