Spring Break Day Four

Today, we hung around in our PJ's all morning. It was really nice to not have to rush off somewhere. In the afternoon, we did venture out to a photography session for the kids. Here are some Spring pictures of our precious babies.

First Day of Spring Break

Yesterday was the first day of spring break, we stayed in our PJ's for most of the day. We have been trying to adjust to the time change too. On our list of things to do, watch Justin Bieber's Never Say Never movie so, we ventured out. Of course, Gracie had to wear her Justin T-Shirt and earrings and had to take her JB Doll. She was in complete awe the entire movie. Cameron, on the other hand, fell asleep! Ha, it didn't quite capture his attention. It was really fun. I think this is the 3rd time we've been to the movies so it was quite a treat!

Catching Up

There have been so many things going on this year that I have not been able to post as often as I would like. At the beginning of February, Cameron started a new school. It's actually a Mother's Day out program called Friends In Christ. He goes 5 days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. It has made such a HUGE difference in our lives. It was sad to leave to Bent Tree because we have been there for so many years, it just didn't make sense for us anymore. His days are full with curriculum, he has Spanish, Music, Movement, etc. My favorite part is that on Thursdays, he goes to Chapel. He takes his own "Chapel Change" to give to Jesus too. Last week when I picked him up he was so anxious to tell me something. I finally stopped talking to his teacher, Ms. Carrie, for him to tell me they were sang "Do Lord" during Chapel. That melted my heart. I grew up with such a strong religious background that I feel guilty for not instilling that in my children. This is our first step.

I can't seem to find the pictures of his first day of school, but we did take a few for his Valentine's Party.

He was SO proud of his Valentine Heart Holder. I so love this little boy with all my heart!

Boys Will be Boys?

Is the phrase "boys will be boys" true? I don't know if I truly believed that but I am starting to think there might be some truth behind it. Yesterday, we were in the car line to pick up Gracie from school and Cameron declares he really really really really has to go potty. What do I do? I tried to be resourceful so I empty out a water bottle and let him go potty in the water bottle. I explained to him that this was a one time deal and it is not something we will do ever again. He said ok. As I am getting dinner ready, I hear he is very quiet so I go to the bedroom to see what he is doing. I am FLOORED at what I see. Cameron is peeing in a bowl! Yup, he is peeing in a bowl. I try to be very (and I mean very) patient and ask him why he did what he did. This was his response. "Well, you let me pee in a water bottle so I wanted to pee in a bowl". Backfire, backfire, backfire was all that was running through my head. I can't spank him at this point so I sit down and explain that we have to go potty in the toilet and ONLY in the toilet. If I had not let him pee in the bottle he would have peed in his chones (underwear). I don't know if it worked or not but I am going to have to keep a close eye on this little one. He is wearing me out!

Monster Jam

I think going to a Monster Jam is going to become an annual event with our family. We have had a busy couple of weeks, it was nice to have something to look forward to. Cameron was so excited he didn't go to bed until 1:30 a.m. It might have been all the sugar intake as well.

First Kiss...

Well, it has happened. Gracie got her first kiss today! As cute as it was, she WAS NOT HAPPY. I'm going to try to write it as our conversation occurred. And I have to add that she did not have a good today and she had a bit of a tummy ache.

Me: So how was music class today Gracie?
G: Uh, we didn't have music today Mom, we had PE.
Me: What happened, you were scheduled for music?
G: I don't know.
G: What are you doing Mom?
Me: I'm working on the craft project for your Valentines Party tomorrow.
G: Did you to a heart for Michael Duncan yet?
Me: No, not yet.
G: Well good, make his the very last one. (not in a good tone)
Me: Gracie, that is not a really nice thing to say. Why would you say that?
G: Well, he kissed me today
Me: WHAT??? He did what again Gracie?
G: He kissed me today in PE and told me loved me.
Me: What did you do?
G: I didn't like it, it's digusting. Besides, I don't love him and I don't want to marry him.
Me: Well, just because he kissed you and said he loved you doesn't mean you're going to marry him. He just has a crush on you.
G: Well, I don't want him to love me. We're not even supposed to kiss at school so I told the teacher.
Me: Sometimes, a boy likes a girl kinda like you like Justin Beiber. You just get really happy when you see him on TV or listen to his music right?
G: Yeah, but I don't like him.
Me: Well, if he kisses you and you don't like it then you should politely tell him not to do it again. But you have to not be mean to him either and hurt his feelings.
G: Mrs. Shade made him turn his "Bee" around because of it.
Me: Just try to be nice Gracie
G: He just loves me because of my cool outfits.
Me: I don't think that's the only reason Gracie.
G: Yes it is, he told me so.

I didn't think I would have to have this conversation when she's 7. Dear Lord, what will it be like when she's 15. Note to self, don't buy such cute outfits!
