Easter 2010

We had so much fun for Easter. Saturday night we dyed all of our Easter Eggs.
Gracie was NOT liking the color of her egg very much...

My little Easter Bunny. He made these little Bunny Ears at school. He was so proud of them and wanted to wear them all the way in the car to go pick up Gracie. It was very windy that day...when we got to Rogers Elementary, I told Cameron we needed to leave his Bunny Ears in the car. I wish I would have had a camera, he was SOO sad. So I let him wear his Bunny Ears, I just told him to hang onto them. Well, this little one did not listen and the Bunny Ears started to fly away. His cry was one of heartache so I set him on the side walk and start running after them. Let's just say running in 4 inch heels didn't get me very far. I had ran quite a distance away from Cameron that I just stopped running and turned back to go hug my baby. At that moment, a Dad picking up his little girl parked his car and took off running after the Bunny Ears. He ran across the street and into someone's yard. He walked up to Cameron & I and handed him his beloved Bunny Ears. Thank you Lord was all that was going through my head. Not very many people would have done that but this good Samaritan made my little one's day. We walked into the school and he ran straight to Gracie to show off his Bunny Ears. Don't you just want to eat those cheeks?
Back to our festivities. The Easter Bunny always stops by for a visit when the kids are sleeping. This year, he left a big stuffed Easter Bunny for each of them and a trail of Cadburry Eggs leading to the front door.
Oh how I love my sweet little angels. It was a full day of fun. Most of my brothers and sisters came over and we just had a blast. Kenny heated the pool so we were able to enjoy awesome weather in the pool.

I just have to say that my brothers always know how to have fun with the kids...

Gracie was NOT having any part of the confetti eggs until Tio Raul had a long conversation with Gracie and reasoned with with her on letting him pop an egg on her. She was hooked after that! Cameron kept walking around asking everyone if they had any "cracker" eggs.

Snow on the First Day of Spring

True crazy "Texas" weather...snow in March. The kids had such a blast - AGAIN. I hope they don't think it snows like this all the time in Texas.

Field Trip

Gracie had her first field trip last month. Of course, this being her "first" field trip being at Rogers Elementary, I naturally had to volunteer. Each Kindergarten class visited Frisco Safety Town. Safety Town was built a few years ago when the City of Frisco was building the new Fire Station. It is a miniature replica of Frisco with buildings, stop lights, cross walks, railroad crossing and it's own toll booth. It is designed to teach children the importance of safety. They let the children drive Jeeps while teaching them the importance of seat belts. They also let children ride bikes and teach them the importance of helmets. We only had time to experience the jeeps. Before we went outdoors, all of the children participated in an interactive realistic training. The firemen had a power point presentation with different pictures, some of the children were chosen to place calls to 9-1-1 and tell the operator what the emergency was. It was really funny to hear some of the things the kids came up with, including Gracie. The fireman asked "what else do you think is an accident where you would have to call 911" Gracie raised her hand and said, "if someone shoots your husband". I was beet red! Everyone was laughing histerically...the fireman asked "is there something we need to know"? Ah - NO!!! She really needs to stop watching the First 48 with me.

When it was Gracie's turn to drive, she was NOT a very good driver. She kept driving up onto the sidewalk and running red lights. Whew, no need to worry about her being on the road anytime soon.

Embarrassing Moment...

This week has been a busy week (aren't they all?). On Thursday, after we picked Gracie up from AlphaBest, we headed to Target for some Easter goodies. We were walking down the cereal aisle and this is a conversation between Cameron & I.

Cameron: Mommy
Me: Yes Cameron
Cameron: Is that a girl? I look up and see a somewhat masculine looking lady. I try to ignore him and start whispering hoping he starts doing the same.
Me: Shuuuuuh Cameron
Cameron: Is that a girl or a boy mommy?
Me: Whispering, "it's a girl honey, be quite"
Right at this moment, we were are literally about to pass this woman.
Cameron: But it doesn't look like a girl mommy.

OMG, I go into a full body sweat and I can literally feel my body temp increase by 20 degrees. I know at this point I am as red as a tomoto. I have no idea what to say so I quickly walk out of the aisle into the next aisle. I have never experienced this with my children. I have heard of embarrassing moments happening, but never to me. I thought I was going to pass out I was so hot. I compose myself and say to Cameron "honey, that wasn't really nice". Cameron replies "but was she a girl or a boy". I told him I thought he had hurt her feelings by saying that and then we are in a full blown histeric. I wanted to die! His poor little feelings were now hurt at the thought of the masculine lady's feelings being hurt. I drove home thinking "out of the mouths of babe". In Cameron's defense, it was really hard to tell. Maybe this will be a lesson to the lady at Target to take a second look in the mirror before she walks out the door.

Finally - SUN!

This weekend we finally had some fun in the sun. It was really windy and a bit cold, but we braved both. We had to buy Gracie a bigger bike since she has gone through quite a bit of a grown spurt! The kids rode their bikes to the lake and then we ventured to the park. They had such fun... Cameron is now braving the bigger slides like his big sister. There are moments when he still screams his little lungs out.
It was amazing to watch Gracie just interact with other kids. These two little girls walked up to Gracie and asked her if she wanted to play. Her first response was "no thanks", but then quickly changed her mind, and away they went! Big change from the little toddler who would cry when anyone said ANYTHING to her.
There are not many pictures of Kenny & I together so Gracie decided to take a picture of us. I think she did pretty good.
